Walker Township is bordered by Marion Township to the northwest, Clinton County to the northeast, Miles Township to the south and east, Gregg Township to the southeast, and Spring Township. Walker Township had some of the largest and best iron ore banks in Centre County. The iron ore at one time was mined for furnaces in five townships, including Walker. Interesting fact, there was an early battlefield in Walker Township, as evidenced by the cannonballs which were found in a field near the Zion Cemetery.
Historians have dated the cannonballs to the French and Indian War. There are hidden gems of restaurants located in Walker township, like Hublersburg Inn and the Old Farmhouse Eatery.
