It's that time of year. Hard to imagine I am writing a holiday year-end blog. This quote by Debora Whipp set the stage, and it is a favorite: “Like snowflakes, my Christmas memories gather and dance — each beautiful, unique, and too soon gone.”
Once I read that today, it inspired me to write about our holiday time. December is such a magical and exciting time at our home. Decorating our home inside and out, baking cookies to share, shopping for gifts, and all the Holiday parties. I feel like we don't take the time to really enjoy the season. One of my favorite pastimes is taking a drive in the evening and looking at Christmas lights. Our children loved that when they were younger. Their favorite stop was Candy Cane Lane, and it was truly magical. Then we would go home and watch a Christmas movie and just relax. These last few years have really made me appreciate those times. It is now almost 1 week before the big day, and I am slowing down and making myself enjoy what the holidays are about. Family, spending time, and making memories.
